On Oct. 1, Google updated its guidance on AI-generated content to say it is “critical to manually fact-check and review all AI-generated content.” It also expanded its helpful-content page with a definition of main content: “any part of the webpage that directly helps the page achieve its purpose.”
A new paragraph says fabricating creator profiles, for example with AI-generated headshots, made-up names or false credentials, “is a form of deception.” Google hasn’t announced a ranking update alongside the changes.
